Specifications for the M4U eX / M8U eX power supply
Even though
M4U eX and M8U
eX get powered via USB from the computer, for standalone operation and when
using the integrated USB 3.0 hub, a power supply is required. This power supply
is included by default, yet can be replaced with a standard power supply (which
is not recommended by us).
The power supply needs to be regulated and provide 5V DC with at least 3A. The outside (sleeve) of the connector is -, while the inside (tip) is +. The connector diameter is 4.0mm (inside 1.7mm).
Such a power supply is a standard part that can be purchased via most music or electronic retailers and mail order companies. If you are unsure, print out this page and show it at your local shop or contact the local ESI distributor in your country.
