Headphone output of GIAPORT eX
We often get asked about the output signals the headphone output of our GIGAPORT eX is sending out. There are two headphone outputs which are available via 1/4" connectors on GIGAPORT eX.
The output labeled Mix sends out a mix of all output channels (1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8). This makes it good for headphone monitoring in a typical recording setup (i.e. to monitor everything or to just check if a signal is there), but it might be a limitation in many DJ setups.
The output labeled 1/2 instead sends out the same signal as line output channel 1/2, making it independent from channels 3 to 8. This is great if you want to use GIGAPORT eX in a computer DJ setup without the use of an external DJ mixer or a separate headphone amplifier as it provides one stereo channel pair for prelistening via headphones, while the line outputs 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 can be used to send out different signals.
