Issues with ESU1808 and OS X 10.9 - Mavericks
In order to make sure that ESU1808 works under OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), it is important that you are using our driver with Version 3.2.2 or higher. If any previous or older version of the ESU1808 driver is installed, the hardware will not work and the driver needs to be uninstalled using the uninstaller in the driver download package. You can find the drivers for ESU1808 on the download page for the product.
Please also make sure that you use at least version 1.0.8 of the firmware for your ESU1808 hardware. The firmware updater is included in the download package of previous driver versions, such as version 2.0.3.
Also, you will notice that the driver lists two devices in Audio MIDI Setup and in your applications:
- ESU1808 (Bit Accurate) - this is the professional driver with 1:1 digital transfers and no resampling, it should be used in DAW application such as Cubase or Logic
- ESU1808 (CoreAudio) - this driver is used for compatibility with applications that do not support bit accurate transfer such as iTunes or the system sounds
So it is recommended to use ESU1808 (CoreAudio) device as default device for playback (if you do not want to use your onboard audio hardware or another device) and whenever it is the only selection in an application and to use ESU1808 (Bit Accurate) for professional audio applications.
